Account Deletion
This page explains how to request deletion of a SessionGauge account and the associated personal data SessionGauge controls. It is public and does not require signing in. Opening this page does not delete an account. Opening an email composer from this page does not delete an account. SessionGauge does not collect credentials or personal records through this website.
Primary method: in the SessionGauge app
If you can open SessionGauge and sign in with an email and password:
- Open SessionGauge.
- Go to Privacy & Security → Delete Account.
- Sign in again with the same account credentials.
- Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.
In-app deletion currently requires an email and password for that account. Google sign-in is not a supported in-app deletion step. The app asks you to type a confirmation phrase and complete the listed steps before it starts deletion. The action cannot be undone. Deletion continues on SessionGauge’s servers if you leave the screen. The app shows success only after the server confirms the account is gone. If the account had a verified email, a separate receipt may be sent; a missing receipt does not undo deletion.
Alternative method: email Privacy Support
If you cannot access the app, cannot use a password in the app, or the app cannot delete the account, email [email protected]. Sending that message is a request. It does not delete the account, does not start in-app deletion, and does not promise a response time.
We may need to verify that you own the account before we act on an email request. Never email passwords, verification codes, or recovery links.
What a completed deletion removes
When in-app deletion completes, SessionGauge removes this login and the online application records it controls for that account. That includes the account identifier and authentication records for that login, profile information and profile photographs, emergency contacts you entered, personal records such as medications, session titles and timestamps, recorded substances, observations, self-reports, notes, session state changes, associated saved warning records for those sessions, and History sessions (including sessions previously hidden from History).
Shared reference catalogs and other people’s accounts stay. Files you already exported or shared outside SessionGauge are not removed.
If an account is tied to professional records or another person’s session, the app blocks in-app deletion and does not silently change those records. Email privacy@sessiongauge.com for help in that case.
What may remain
Backups, previously cached copies, operational copies such as logs, and exports saved outside the app may remain after a completed deletion. SessionGauge does not claim those copies are erased, does not invent how long they last, and does not promise immediate removal from backups. This page does not set a deletion deadline.
The published Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy draft notes that deletion jobs and receipt or request records can remain for follow-up operations, and that it has not yet specified their fields, purpose, or retention. The in-app deletion copy likewise does not state a backup retention period.
Device-only items such as display preferences, auto-lock choices, and biometric sign-in enrollment on that phone are stored on the device. Account deletion is a hosted-account action. It is separate from removing the app from a device.
Account deletion is not uninstalling the app
Signing out, uninstalling SessionGauge, clearing app data, or hiding a session from History does not delete the hosted account or the personal data stored in the hosted service. Uninstalling removes the app from that device. It does not submit a deletion request and does not remove hosted records.
